Behind Sky Volnova, there is an artist: The Bass Loopman.
I play bass, building my music live, note by note, with a looper — a machine that records and repeats my loops endlessly. It’s handcrafted, human, and takes years to master. I add drums and keyboards as the mood strikes. I feed my ideas to AI, which offers possibilities. I choose, deconstruct, add, remix — until the work speaks to me. Sky is a character I invented. My muse. My digital Galatea — a wandering photographer born in Russia, sculpted from scratch: her universe, her lyrics, her voice, her visual identity — with AI as my palette, the way Picasso used collage. She sings in Russian because that’s who she is, because I decided it, and because Russian audiences listen to her and respond. AI doesn’t create for me. It amplifies what I’ve already decided to do. Human creativity. Modern tools. Real music.
